Ingredients
3
cups
360 g all-purpose flour
1
tablespoon
12 g baking powder
1
teaspoon
6 g salt
¼
cup
50 g granulated sugar
12
fluid ounces
355 ml beer
¼
cup
57 g unsalted butter, melted
Instructions
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 8 ½ X 4 ½-inch loaf pan with butter or non-stick spray.
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar until combined.
Slowly pour in the beer, stirring with a wooden spoon or spatula until just combined. The batter will be thick and slightly sticky.
Stir in 2 tablespoons (28.5 g) of the melted butter.
Spoon the batter into the prepared loaf pan and spread evenly.
Pour the remaining 2 tablespoons (28.5 g) melted butter over the top.
Bake for 50–60 minutes, until golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Cool in the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool for 10 minutes before slicing.
Slice and serve warm with butter or Father’s Day dishes.
Notes
Beer Choice:
Use Dad’s favorite beer (lager, ale, or stout) for a personal touch; avoid overly hoppy IPAs to prevent bitterness.
Precise Measurements:
For accurate flour measurement, use a kitchen scale or spoon and level the flour to avoid a dense loaf.
Storage:
Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days or in the fridge for up to 5 days.
Optional Add-Ins:
Mix in ½ cup shredded cheddar or 1 tablespoon chopped fresh herbs for extra flavor.
