This is an orange twist to the popular Gooey Butter Cookie. You'll love this refreshing orange butter cookie made with a yellow or white cake mix. Orange flavor comes from orange zest and orange emulsion!

Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350°F.
In a medium bowl, with a mixer or stand mixer with a paddle attachment, cream together the softened cream cheese and butter until even consistency.
Stir in the eggs, orange emulsion, and zest. Mix until thoroughly incorporated.
Add the cake mix and mix until well blended. Add optional food coloring if desired.
Refrigerate the dough for 30 minutes, which makes the dough easier to handle.
Scoop dough with 1 ½ tablespoon cookie scoop and roll into balls. Coat them in powdered sugar.
Place balls on the prepared pan at least 1 inch apart so there is room for them to spread.
Bake for 10 to 13 minutes. Do not let the cookies brown.
Cool on the pan for 5 minutes then remove to a wire rack to cool completely.
